The first thing you will notice at a Jacob's Well Worship Gathering or Bible Study is that we are very casual. We want people to feel comfortable so please be yourself and come as you are, nobody here is going to judge you for the way you dress or for your sense of style.
Second, we are a group of imperfect and flawed human beings. We have problems, struggles, and personality quirks just like you so please don't feel like you have to pretend to have it all together to fit in at Jacob's Well, we like to say that we are a place where it is ok not to be ok.
Third, we desire an authentic worship experience. We are unashamedly Christian and as such we gather together to worship Jesus. Our worship services are designed to be spiritual and to connect people with God. We believe that true worship is a response to the grace and mercy of God in our lives, therefore we invite worshipers to respond to God by participating in the service through things such as singing, prayer, responsive reading, giving, and partaking in communion. Participation is not required, and participatory elements are never done in such a way as to make anyone feel uncomfortable for not participating.
Fourth, We design our worship service for all people, wherever they are in their spiritual journey. We do our best to create an environment where genuine heartfelt worship can occur. We also understand that there are some people who are exploring Christianity for the first time so we try to clearly explain everything that we do in our worship service and make it a safe environment for those who want to learn more about Jesus. We have no secrets and we're not trying to hide anything, so please feel free to ask questions.
Finally, one of our biggest goals as a church is to build an authentic community where all people, no matter where they are on their spiritual journey, can belong. We believe that God created us as social beings who need each other, therefore we want to help people connect with each other. We are intentional about creating an environment where relationships can occur naturally.
Final Note:
Each of us at Jacob's Well is at a different place in our spiritual journey, therefore we desire to create a safe environment for people of all different backgrounds and belief systems to learn about Jesus and the Bible. We don't claim to have all the answers, but we're not afraid to ask the tough questions, because we do believe that the answers can be found in Jesus.
